Want an easy way to save a TON of money on your grocery shopping? Do an inventory before you head out!
Chances are, you have a ton of food already on hand that you may have not "felt like" eating.
Even though my fridge and cupboards *looked* bare, I was able to find all of this great food hiding! ("Mooommm! We don't have any food!!")
- apples
- oranges
- red bell peppers
- romaine lettuce
- carrots
- avocado
- bananas (if they're close to their prime, peel them and freeze them for smoothies!)
- sweet potato
- roma tomato
- lemons
- coconut oil
- chia seeds (I buy them in bulk and store them in the fridge in that big plastic coconut oil container)
- almond milk
- frozen blueberries
- Ezekiel bread
- pearl barley (great for soups!)
- raw cashews
- frozen edamame
- quinoa
- green lentils
- kidney beans
- brown rice
- peanut butter
- hot sauce, mustard & garlic
* Not pictured:
- old fashioned oats
- Shakeology
- protein powder (right now we have Vega and Sun Warrior)
- frozen black beans (we buy BIG bags of dehydrated beans then freeze them)
The only things I needed to buy this week were:
- more oranges
- strawberries
- blueberries
- kale (that's all Scott's... he goes through a TON of kale each week!)
- broccoli
- mushrooms
- another sweet potato
- more bananas
- spring mix
- tofu (plain and smoked)
and this way I only ended up spending $49!
Today we're talking about a product that is 100% oil... yet is allowed to be marketed as having ZERO fat and ZERO calories.
