Ways to save money on HEALTHY food (because we all know that most coupons are for crap!)

I haven't received a newspaper regularly in a few years, so correct me if I'm wrong, but I remember a big section every Sunday that was filled with all kinds of money saving coupons... which were all for processed, packaged crap. It seemed the worse you ate, the more big companies rewarded you. So let me tell you how excited I was to find these two new FREE money saving apps that save you money on healthier foods and (are you ready for this!!??) PRODUCE!! Yeah, glorious, fresh fruits and vegetables. :) 

The basis for both apps is about the same. They show you a list of items that are eligible for savings, you just purchase the items, snap a pic of your receipt, and you're reimbursed! 

Checkout 51

Checkout 51 is the first app I downloaded. There are a lot of unhealthy items on there (hotdogs and soda anyone?) BUT this is also the app that has fresh produce. Each item is worth a different amount, varying from $.25 - $3. So far this week I've claimed the offers for strawberries, tomatoes and sprig mix for a total of $3 back. Once your savings add up to $20, a check is mailed to you! 

Berry Cart

The next app I downloaded is called Berry Cart. This app doesn't have produce, but it includes much healthier foods, and even has them labeled if they are vegan, gluten-free, organic and nut-free. Items on this app have a savings ranging from $.25 - $1.25, and your earning can be transferred to your PayPal account or put on a gift card. They also have a cool referral feature where you earn an extra $2 for every friend you refer once they upload their first item.
